Security Watch ; PCmag – Manage ActiveX controls
ActiveX controls are a regular feature of any Windows system and are certainly not inherently a bad thing. But management of ActiveX controls can get hairy, and you may rightly wonder whether you want all the controls on your system.
All ActiveX controls have a unique code called a GUID. There are a number of sites (this one for example) that keep lists of these GUIDs so that you can see what it is installed on your system.
But which are installed on your system? A tool like ActiveXHelper lists them out for you and lets you enable/disable them.
Given a name you may also be able to go to the standard Add/Remove Programs dialog and uninstall the program.
