AOL has launched a new Netscape site that works like Digg. Sorry Ebert and Roeper: looks like Netscape is using votes, not thumbs like Digg. Sigh.
No seriously, the big difference is the presence of an “anchor” on Netscape. Basically, submitted stories are voted on in the same way, and the more votes a story gets the higher it appears in a category home page or on the main page of Netscape.com. But, the top few stories in each category and on netscape.com’s main page are chosen by an “anchor,” who basically functions like an editor.
